Betancourt Collects L1 Newcomer of the Year Wednesday, November 5th , 2025 The regular season is now history and it's awards time in the League 1. This year's winner of the Newcomer of the Year is 24-year-old Lúcio Betancourt of the St. Rock Mudcats. The talented left fielder batted .294, played in 89 games and delivered 99 hits in 337 at-bats. His totals also included 12 home runs, 47 RBIs, 49 runs scored, 19 walks and a .339 OBP. He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lorenzo Milián of the Las Vegas Luck finished second in voting, while Ramírez Ascensio of the Las Vegas Luck finished third.
